Calm, relationship-centered setting
Acton Midwest is designed for families who want a smaller, calmer, more personal beginning for their child.
We are intentionally small so children can be deeply known, gently guided, and supported as whole people — socially, emotionally, physically, and intellectually.
Here, early learning happens all day through real experiences: outdoor exploration, practical life skills, stories, play, movement, problem-solving, rest rhythms, and meaningful connection.
Our goal is for each child to feel safe, capable, curious, and ready for their next step.
Calm Environment
A smaller setting with predictable rhythm, fewer transitions, and space for children to grow at their own pace.
Emotional Development
Children are supported in building confidence, self-awareness, emotional regulation, and healthy ways to navigate big feelings.
Independence
Children practice real-life skills, decision-making, responsibility, and self-leadership in age-appropriate ways.
What Children Experience Each Day
Each day at Acton Midwest is thoughtfully structured to support steadiness, confidence, independence, and growth.
Children experience a daily rhythm that may include:
• Warm arrival and connection

• Outdoor play and movement
• Hands-on exploration

Laura brings a strong background in child development, psychology, and early learning.
She creates a calm, consistent environment where young children can build confidence, independence, emotional awareness, and strong developmental foundations.
Laura’s role is to help children feel safe, known, and supported as they learn through play, practical life skills, outdoor exploration, stories, and daily rhythm.
Dr. Carolyn is the founder of Acton Midwest and the visionary behind its calm, relationship-centered approach to early learning.
She created Acton Midwest for families seeking a more intentional beginning — one where children are deeply known, supported in their growth, and encouraged to build confidence, independence, and strong foundations from the start.
Her work is rooted in leadership, human development, education, and the belief that children thrive when they are safe, seen, and supported.

Step 1: Request a Fit Conversation
We begin with a short conversation to answer your questions, learn about your child, and understand your schedule needs.
Step 2: Visit the Studio
If it seems like a possible fit, families may visit the studio, see the environment, and get a feel for the daily rhythm.
Step 3: Confirm Enrollment or Waitlist
If the schedule, space, and fit align, we move forward with enrollment. If space is not currently available, we may discuss waitlist options.
Enrollment is intentionally thoughtful to protect the culture and experience for every child.

A Fit Conversation is the first step for all enrollment at Acton Midwest, including standard enrollment and Get Kids Ready.
Because Acton Midwest is a small, relationship-based learning environment, enrollment depends on your child’s age, schedule needs, space availability, and program fit.
For Get Kids Ready, children must be 4 years old on or before September 1, 2026.
Priority enrollment is given to families seeking consistent full-time care. Part-time options may be considered only when space allows.
